Dr. Mark D. Scholl

Dr. Scholl is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in arthroscopy, knee surgery and shoulder surgery. He grew up in Chicago, and after undergraduate studies at Washington University in St. Louis, he attended Northwestern University Medical School. Following this, he completed an orthopaedic residency with Emory University Department of Orthopaedics in Atlanta. While in Atlanta, he was involved with care of athletes for the Atlanta Hawks, Atlanta Falcons and Georgia Tech University. He then completed a Fellowship in advanced arthroscopic techniques of the knee and shoulder at the University of Utah. Prior to returning to Salt Lake City, Dr. Scholl worked in Ogden, Utah. His time in Ogden included working as a Team Physician for Weber State University and the Ogden Raptors.

After moving his practice to Salt Lake City, Dr. Scholl has been a Team Physician with the Utah Blaze and Real Salt Lake, including their improbable run to the MLS Cup Championship in 2009!

Currently, he is a Team Physician for the US Ski Team, USA Rugby, Utah Blaze and a physician for the Solitude Mountain Resort. He is an avid outdoorsman and has served as an Inspired Mountain Ambassador for Cloudveil Mountain Apparel. Dr. Scholl is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

An athlete himself, his own experiences help Dr. Scholl guide and plan the recovery of his patients. Dr. Scholl is an ultrarunner, skier and cyclist. He also enjoys fly fishing, golf and spending time outdoors with his children.

Joined by his daughter and son, Dr. Scholl heads to the finish of the Wasatch Front 100-Mile Endurance Run.
